what type of freon do i use r12 or r134a autozone says 134a and oreillys says r12 help

Look under your hood. Somewhere it will say which one it takes. If you can't find it look at the fittings on your a/c lines. If one of the fittings looks like it's the same size as your valve stems on your tires then it is the old R12 system. If the fittings are larger than your valve stems then it takes the newer R134a refrigerant. If it takes the R12 you need someone that has an HVAC license to purchase the R12.
