TOP 10  -  Porsche makes me feel like a pro

Porsche makes me feel like a pro

BOWMANVILLE, Ont. -When I was a little girl, I never fantasized about being whisked away on a white horse. Far sexier, thought I as a young woman, would be a white Porsche and enough horsepower to speed right past the pony express.I recently had the chance to participate in Porsche's first-ever women-only track day at Mosport International Raceway and I was whisked away in a beautifully engineered Porsche 911 Carrera S. It was silver, but it was still faster and more powerful than any horse. In fact, at 355 horsepower, it would be like having an entire herd at my command.

TOP 8  -  2009 Mercedes-Benz SL550

2009 Mercedes-Benz SL550

Maybe we've been driving too many very nice cars lately, but the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL550 didn't excite us much when it arrived in the garage. It's hard to follow acts like the Maserati GranTurismo and the BMW M6, and we tend to like shorter, more nimble sports cars. But the SL550 won us over with its handling on winding mountain roads and its striking looks with the sun blazing overhead and a nice ocean-scape in the background.

TOP 7  -  Twin Turbo Lamboghini

Twin Turbo Lamboghini

The other day we posted a video of a Lamborghini making dyno pulls on a chassis dyno. It featured a Pro Line-built Lambo engine and Underground Racing was responsible for the tuning and all the work. The exotic ride posted an insane 1,026 rwhp. The shop decided to take it out to the local drag strip and show off its capabilities. WOW, is all I can say. The Lambo blasted to a 10.47 at 139 mph! Crazy.

Fiat may delay launch of Linea Grante Punto

The reason attributed to the likely postponement of Linea’s launch is that there are too many car launches in September. The company thinks that it is wiser to wait a bit to ensure sufficient customer attention for the launch, according to Fiat officials. Toyota, GM, Ford and Honda are reportedly preparing to launch their products in September, the beginning of the festival season.

Audi ALMS Qualifying Recap - Drivers Facing Difficult Task

Like last year, the Audi drivers are facing an extremely difficult task in the race of the American Le Mans Series on the "Belle Isle Street Circuit" in Detroit (U.S. state of Michigan). Team Audi Sport North America’s pair of Audi R10 TDI prototypes will start Saturday’s race from the fourth and fifth row of the grid on the bumpy city street circuit. The track at Detroit is considered to be one of the most challenging for the cars of the LM P1 class. In 2007, the gap between the two Audi R10 TDI prototypes and the ligher LM P2 cars was similar to that set today. From starting positions seven and eight, however, the two diesel-powered sports cars moved up to second and third place in the race. Compared to last year’s Friday practice, this year the conditions were even worse due to changing weather. Both free practice sessions took place in the rain making a proper set-up work impossible. It was dry for qualifying but the track was extremely slippery due to the previous rain.
