Nissan NP200 ute based on Dacia Logan pick-up

You could say that Nissan's workhorses are equally as iconic to the company as their 4WD sports cars. The C22 Vanette is still very popular for businesses and is still begin produced in Malaysia. Though most contractors still love the Hilux more, the basic Nissan Frontier is popular choice as a workhorse and remember how many small businessmen used the Nissan AD Resort as their workhorse and family vehicle at the same time? Such is the versatility of stationwagons but somehow the Malaysian car-buying public has forgotten about this bodystyle.

Mini and BMW both offer great rides with tops down

With the roof down, cargo space shrinks to a microscopic 4.2 cubic feet. The rear seats in the Bimmer are slightly more functional, but not by much. It is only because my wife is "untall" and my 5-foot-7 daughter is a limber gymnast that we could come to a suitable arrangement and actually use the Cabrio as a family vehicle. With the top down, the trunk's capacity is reduced by more than a third to 7.4 cubic feet.

TOP 4  -  Fiat at the Paris motor show 2008

Fiat at the Paris motor show 2008

No new cars for Fiat at Paris, so the spotlight fell on environmental initiatives. A five-times life-size white Fiat 500 presided over a stand occupied entirely by pearl white 500s, Bravos, Sedicis, Cromas and Qubos. These cars were set on a Simpsons sky-like floor of blue and white over which the usual high quality of Fiat ladies strolled. If Fiat did heaven, it could look a lot like this.

Ferrari CEO says 2008 will be record breaking year

As the financial crisis rages, there is still glamor amid the gloom — and not just from the models pouting next to sexy new cars at the Paris Motor Show. On the Ferrari stand, the glamor is red and topless and comes in the form of the new California, a coupe-cabriolet with a retractable hard top.

BMW Says U.S. Credit Woes To Hurt Europe Car Values

BMW AG Chief Executive Norbert Reithofer said the credit crisis in the U.S. will have a spillover effect that will eventually hurt the value of second-hand cars in Europe. Deteriorating residual values in the U.S. forced BMW in August to revise downward its profit targets for 2008. In the second quarter, BMW booked a charge of €459 million related mainly to its leasing business in North America, following a €236 million charge in the first quarter.

Audi's new A6 remains true to form

For the 2009 model year, the now four-year-old Audi A6 gets a mid-life cycle makeover intended to help it stay at the top of the European sales chart in its market segment. The saying whereby one shouldn't try to fix something that's not broken should apply perfectly in this case -- it's just that Audi engineers and designers apparently can't resist tweaking things a bit from time to time. The first thing you notice about the 2009 model is it now gets the signature LED daytime running lights, which have become part of Audi's new visage.

Good news. More options=better, and the thought of something shaped like a 350z, with instant torque and zero dino consumption (while perhaps unlikely) put a big smile on my face.
