BMW, Fiat on Small Cars Together

German car maker BMW and its Italian rival Fiat said they are studying whether to link up so that small cars can be sold is a mini and Alfa Romeo.
That the issue in Munich and in Turin said that the cooperation agreement between the two countries brands, to share "of platforms and components" is conceivable. BMW Mini is the bottom line of medium-range brands.
The two companies said that they have signed a statement of intent, but it will not release any more details. They disclosed that by the end of the year how far the talks have started.
Platforms and components for the automotive industry jargon agencies and major mechanical parts such as engines. Sharing platform vehicles, can be made in a single factory, but because of the unique decoration, so that they appear to belong to two completely different scope of the car.
Fiat announced quoted the Chief executive Sergio Marchionne said, this is a major step in Fiat's alliance strategy. Fiat returned to profit three years ago after the fall, deep in crisis.

Second of all, COOL! I didn't know that there was an auto exec who saw the same light i did as far as plug-in hybrids: they don't make any sense!

I believe "this car is useless, it's too powerful" is the cynical angle, not those of us who say to why not give it a try.
