TOP 9 - Yes, It's Really a Porsche! A German cult car finds a good home

I bought a red 1976 Porsche 914 back in 1980. It was love at first sight but it had a lot of issues that I couldn't afford to deal with - I had just moved to California from the East Coast and didn't realize just how high the cost of living was in the Bay Area. The car had to go. Since then, I had always wanted another one - not just another Porsche, but another 914.

TOP 8 - The New Mini Cooper

Those teeny little smart cars that seat two people and look like they'd collapse like an accordian if you had a fender bender with a taxi? Despite plenty of criticism of Daimler's new Fortwo ("FOR-twoh")—"I felt I was in a car priced at about $10,000 and built in some Eastern European factory devoid of modern robotics," and "It feels a bit like a kit car, one my Dad and I might have built in the driveway," writes BusinessWeek—the model has been selling briskly. Between January and July of this year, Daimler has sold 13,958 of the eight-footers, which if you weighed them all, would still only equate to about four Hummers.

TOP 3 - Paint the town red in Audi S5

Not exactly great timing for a $50,000, 14-mpg coupe, but Pete 'n' Pam find that luxury can be enticing. Will they yield to the sybaritic comfort or practicality?

TOP 2 - Ferrari Red Letter Days: Teenage kicks

She couldn't. Garrulous at the best of times, Lucy was apparently able to speak only in complete, breathless monologues. Older brother Tom wasn't much better, even though he usually communicates in little more than a sullen mutter - as upper teenage boys are wont to do. The cause of their animation? A Ferrari 550. And they hadn't merely been sitting in it: just short of their 14th and 17th birthdays respectively, they'd driven it.

Circuit de la Sarthe and The Green Hell are a start. They have absolutely beautiful straights where this thing *might* make it half way through it's final gear.

Maybe it makes sense for when people are driving within the daily range since grid power is so relatively cheap, but driving with gas has to be much less efficient than it would be in a regular hybrid
