Dodge Challenger Convertible with 560HP to Debut at SEMA

No, Dodge has not finally made the decision to create of a drop-top version of its resurrected Challenger coupe. Then what's this? Well, since Dodge and parent Chrysler LLC have their own problems to solve, Coach Builders Limited, Inc. a Florida-based aftermarket cabriolet converter firm decided to take advantage of the automaker's lack of will (and money) by providing open-air enthusiast with an alternative, yet somewhat costly, solution.
The aftermarket Challenger Convertible will make its first public debut at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas with production set to begin in mid-November. Speaking with the folks at Edmunds, Coach Builders' Larry Moran told Insideline that the cabriolet conversion is priced at $16,000, meaning that a new 2009 Challenger SRT8 Convertible will cost you around $58,000.
For those who want more (and can afford it of course), Coach Builder will happily offer various accessories and performance upgrades including custom interiors, alloy wheels and tires.
The 'greenish' Challenger SRT8 Convertible on display at SEMA will be equipped with a Vortech supercharger that bumps the 6.1-liter Hemi V8's output from 425HP to 560 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle will also ride on a lower KW coil-over suspension kit lower and massive 22-inch Foose alloy wheels.
