TOP 10  -  PREVIEW Auto parts cos to see costs pinch from Q1 profits





 


Major Indian auto parts makers are seen reporting marginal-to-modest profits in the June quarter with rising input costs gnawing into margins.Amtek Auto Ltd (AMTK.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) and Motherson Sumi Systems (MOSS.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) are seen posting a marginal rise in profit, while Bharat Forge (BFRG.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) may see profit fall 24 percent, a Reuters poll of analysts showed.

I am not sure what the German for thrashing is, but it certainly came courtesy of Lewis Hamilton in a driving performance that put the rest of the field in Sunday's F1 GP to shame. New car sales took a U-turn to gain in June after falling in May, but grew at the slowest annual pace in 18 months, new figures show.New vehicle sales rose by 866 units, or 1.0 per cent, to a seasonally adjusted 88,917 vehicles in June from 88,051 in May, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) said on Monday.

A car bomb blew up in Baghdad, killing a civilian and wounding four others, an Interior Ministry official said.The Sunday attack underscored the fragility of relative calm in the Iraqi capital; violence levels have dropped sharply in Baghdad and across the country over the past few months.Early Sunday in northern Iraq, U.S. forces killed two relatives of Salaheddin's governor Hamad al-Qaisi and identified them as members of al Qaeda in Iraq.

DETROIT -- General Motors Corp. said yesterday it would lay off salaried workers, cut truck production, suspend its dividend and borrow $2 billion to $3 billion to weather a severe downturn in the U.S. market.GM said the moves would raise $15 billion to help cover losses and turn around its North American operations, including $10 billion from internal cost-cutting and $5 billion from selling some assets and borrowing against others.

    remind me what track you'll be able to utilize the upper gears in? frantic variable power delivery isn't my notion of what i'd like my car to do on the track but to each his own.
