BRISTOL, England — Salica Cars, a specialty firm best known for constructing and modding Noble kit cars, has unveiled its Salica GT, a midengine supercar that lays down 400 horsepower and sprints to 60 mph in a mere 3.2 seconds. Salica calls it "an evolutionary development of the Noble sports car."

The English beast is offered in both right- and left-hand-drive variants and with a choice of suspension setups. The GT is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 mated to a Graziano H-pattern six-speed gearbox. There's also a twin-turbocharged version rated at 500 hp and 450 pound-feet of torque. The lightweight 2,260-pound steel and carbon-fiber chassis, thanks to Noble and TVR, allows for an estimated top speed of 190 mph.
Creature comforts include a stereo, air-conditioning and the choice between leather trim or a stripped, more race-friendly interior. Traction control and ABS are offered, and the one-piece lightweight roof can be removed from the car and stashed in the garage.
Salica has priced the GT starting at the equivalent of $142,090, excluding tax, and targets an on-sale date by the end of the year.

Salica GT, the evolution of the Noble sports car, debuted in the U.K. this week.

Salica GT has a 400-horsepower V6, boosted up to 500 hp in the twin-turbo version.

A racing version of the midengine Salica will offer a lighter, more stripped-down interior.

Salica Cars omits the modern-day plethora of electronics to allow an old-school driving experience. Traction control and ABS are available optionally, though.

The Salica GT has a lightweight steel and carbon-fiber chassis.

The wheels and tires are 18 inches.

You might want to try a Renault F1 for a more fair race in a straight line!
